So many awesome ones got sent in! I also had a few bookmarked that I had come across on facebook. I’ve noticed lots of these on tumblrs, etc, and love them as a new genre of photography.

GEMSTONES is part of a larger found footage remixing project begun by Tom Buckholz in 2009. This extended, second version of GEMSTONES was screened (as a work in progress) at INSTANT RICE on January 16, 2010. This cut adds footage from El Topo, Manhattan, Murder By Death, 3 Ninjas, a found high school reunion tape, a found wedding anniversary party tape, a Zion I music video, and original footage. Additional audio from The Rain Man, Mr. Oizo, Abba, Lightning Bolt, and Jessica Arnold. superhitops.com and tombuckholz.com .

I found my cousin Dan in the house we shared, dissecting a handgun to clean it piece by piece. He was taping the parts down with thin yellowed masking tape, onto a yellow legal pad. Writing down what each one was, & how to put it all back. All I had with me at the time was slow speed, black and white, 35mm film, and no tripod. He needed to reassemble the gun, so I got a blurry, grainy print.

These due date cards came from library books that have been switched over to bar code-based checkout systems.
