GUN PARTS

I found my cousin Dan in the house we shared, dissecting a handgun to clean it piece by piece. He was taping the parts down with thin yellowed masking tape, onto a yellow legal pad. Writing down what each one was, & how to put it all back. All I had with me at the time was slow speed, black and white, 35mm film, and no tripod. He needed to reassemble the gun, so I got a blurry, grainy print.
awesome. never heard of such a thing. ive once watched someone close to me clean a gun but it was frightening because he’d been away (ok it was my fiancee) and he was super good at it, he was drinking beer with one hand and dropping pieces onto the table like it whaddnit no thang–boom–put it back together again. made me sick. i have a great film of it though. and some of my best 8mm stuff is blurry all the way through too cuz it was that or no moment capturing, take your pic. sometimes life is quick, that lil bitch:)
